    bite the bullet  start all over again    .. I went nuts trying to reseal my 5.5hp gearcase  I ended up   spot welding the stupid thing  6”and 11/16 if I recall…

    after the weld job  … reseal it all      no more friction on the lower pump plate

    pressure tested and vacum  were ok
