    coil wise I can’t say  if  you could swap in non Merc coils… Maybe Dave Bernard would know ??  the problem may be more  physical  to fit them under the cowl

     

    wire wise  I would not worry to much about jump over  with 400 V

     

    in the video the guy rebuilds the wires with new  crimps at the ends  and some  heat shrink on the crimps
