    Thanks for your reply. The reason that I brought this up is that I have a copy of the book BEAUTIFUL OUTBOARDS by Peter Hunn that shows a full page color photo of a guy holding both an early Evinrude Mate and an Elto Cub. The Cub has a red fuel cap. I have also read a comment or article some time back that mentioned a red fuel cap on early Cubs.
