OK, well I don’t think his 56 30hp has the economizer linkage like the one shown in bob’s photos. Could be wrong, just going by his pictures.
Charles, try to take some pictures of what you are trying to explain, don’t think I’m following you.
And yes, you want to avoid attempting to pull that flywheel if at all possible.
Nonetheless, the mag plate should be contacting that raised boss in the block if it is advancing fully, like shown in Bob’s second picture.
Please note that the engine needs to be in forward gear before the mag plate can advance fully, you may have to rotate the prop slightly to get the engine fully engaged into forward gear.
