I notice on the drawing for the older serial numbers the groove where the seal is supposed to go is not even there so maybe you are right.

I will try it without one when that day finally comes. I am waiting on a few parts before I can re-assemble this beauty. I am currently is the dis-mantled stage, cleaning, prepping and painting.
