    OK, well contrary to what we thought, this engine does NOT have the trick economizer linkage I was referring to.  OK, the butterfly is opening fully, is the mag plate advancing fully, against its WOT stop?  There should be a raised boss on the block, on the stbd rear side that the mag plate rests against when fully advanced.
