Can’t believe I forgot the motor info.

    Thanks Frank.

Is it possible as Jeff asks that the driveshaft splines could be stuck to the crank?

As I tear this further and further apart Im seeing more and more water intrusion. I’m wondering if this is the issue?

    Jeff, no shift shaft.

I’m assuming if the driveshaft is stuck in the crank I need to pull the power-head and PB Blast the heck out of the splines?

I watched a video on YouTube of a guy pulling the power-head off a very old motor once (don’t remember what motor or other details) where he showed that something (not the shift shaft, something else) needed to be in a certain position otherwise the driveshaft would not let loose of the crank. Is this the case here at all?

If not, can I assume that it is either the rusty threads behind the cover or the  splines are frozen to each other?

    Thx

    Best Regards
