I decided to see if I can upgrade the 66 Evinrude’s powerhead
suspension system with the 71 Johnson parts motor clamshells
and the exhaust water cooled cover, so I can use the
two vibration dampers from the 71 model.
There appeared to be some differences with the throttle linkages
under the hood, and the Johnson front panel was one piece, the Evinrude two.
Hopefully I can make it all work out.
So far, I’ve only switched around the water cooled exhaust cover.
Tomorrow, I may see if the port clamshell crack is repairable.
