I was running a Speedster, that wasn’t having any starting or running issues,
when I noticed one of the valve stems was missing. No idea how long it had
been gone. As I was 1400+ miles from home and the seat was also damaged.
I just put it back together. It ran fine for another 4 or 5 days before it started
to show signs that it was time to take it off the boat before I ended up rowing
back. In my experience there would really need to be some obvious damage
if it is the mixer. These aren’t really a carburetor.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
