Without having access to the motor its difficulty
for me to under stand what “pop” means. What is
the location of the knob on the flywheel when it
pops? The location of the timer. Have you tried to
advance or retard the timer a little. What was the
result. Same with the mixture screw. What direction
is the flywheel turning when it pops? Does it change
direction when it pops? However these things
start pretty easily and I would think you would have
stumbled on a setting where it would start for a few
rotations anyway. So I’m going to speculate that you
passably have a trimming issue. This could be because
you have the wrong flywheel or the strap, (thing that
connects the eccentric on the flywheel to the timer) is
the wrong length. Check to see if it looks like a home
made replacement. Pistons facing the wrong way is
something that should be investigated. I’ll be away
from home for a couple weeks. If you have more
questions, I’m not ignoring you. Time I spend on the
computer will be determined by the weather.
Tubs.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
