    If it truly is not pulling fuel/air in, there is a problem with crankcase sealing.  Can be worn out bearings, worn out pistons / rings, missing or melted rubber valve that pressurizes the tank, etc.  But you would have seen that with the reed plate off, right? What are your compression readings other than “strong”?
