    Thanks for all the tips. Prop is off currently. This particular prop’s hub (brass hub, aluminum prop) protrudes almost an inch out of the prop, so I put the hub in the vise and tried to turn the blades and couldn’t. Hub turns in the vise a bit because I’m afraid to damage the brass hub by cranking the vise too tight. the hub seems like it’s in there pretty solidly. Again, it ‘s brand new NOS prop that’s only been sitting on a shelf for 64 years or so, lol.

    If it’s not a spun prop, what’s the next most likely cause that would have the same symptom?
