Nice job. I am reconditioning the same motor. My motor had the same issues with the water pump housing, and gearcase missing parts. I have a 1939 parts motor, so I found the needed parts. I painted my motor dull aluminum color using krylon paint. It looks to bright for me. I am going to try duplicolor cast aluminum . What paint did you use on your motor?

Hi Rob, I used Seymour Hi-Tech EN-71 Dull Aluminum on this motor. I did buy Dupli Color DE1650 Cast Aluminum for a Merc KE4 that I’m painting so I don’t know what it will look like yet. Someone on AOMCI posted that this is the closest he’s found for the Merc so I will try it on my Merc. I like the looks of the Seymour on this motor though. I also have a can of Dupli Color DE1615 Aluminum that I thought I would try on a motor at some point…just to see what I like the best.
