Here is a picture of the paint of the bottom of the cylinder. I know I let it get a little hot the first time I ran it when the rotor wasn’t working (got up to about 300-350 by the time I grabbed a non-contact thermometer, I promptly shut it down).
Motor is pumping water now. Don’t get any out the exhaust slits at idle, it is pouring out at the leg joint, not sure if it is supposed to do that. Ran it for about 10 minutes and it seemed to run okay although it sounded like it was missing or something when I revved it up. I think I need to get it on a boat for more tuning. It was still VERY hard to start and after I ran it a while I idled it too low and it kind of “sneezed” and pretty much refused to start after that. Video below in the daylight was the run from a few weeks ago (not cooling). Video in the dark was today with the pump working.
Any ideas on the hard starting?
