Thanks Buc! I think we’re on the right track with that. I believe it’s a nail too. The function of the pin is to rise with the cork float as fuel enters the bottom of the bowl and seal it to prevent flooding, correct? I wonder if this homeade pin is doing the job. I guess I’ll find out arter I get it cleaned and rebuilt.

I have not seen this mixing valve/float chamber set up before. This one is from the late 30s. Are there other models that combine the mixing valve with a float bowl like this one?
