A friend once listed the 4 Fast Food Groups…Salt, Sugar, Starch and Cholesterol. With older homes, machines and environments Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Asbestos and other ingredients to be named later. If you are working on an old

mechanism, assume the worst and prepare with clean safe

work practices. You do not want inhale or ingest dust or

allow dust to contaminate work area.  How much risk are you willing to accept and how to deal with the risks you accept are your choices.
