    I have tried to balance the carbon seal, washer and spring on the driveshaft, and insert it into the spline in the powerhead. It resulted in breaking the carbon seal after several tries. I then bought a kit with the seal, washer and spring included. I then found a base gasket, as the powerhead will have to be removed to assemble it correctly without breaking the seal.
