    Why don’t you try just using a piece of cut off fuel line?  Not sure of the size needed but I think it might be a 1/4 or 5/16ths hose, cut to length so it overhands a tad.  All it does is center itself in the cup and keep the hood from vibrating.  It sure is a lot cheaper than buying tire valves and cutting them up.  I would say maybe an inch or so long would do the trick!

     

    Just a thought!
