Not sure if this will help you crosbyman, I can’t see any pics as to what you’re referring to, but I’ve used larger size truck tire valve stems as a cheap replacement for bumpers. They’re about the same size and fit over the post real tight. Remove the valve core with the tool or needle nose, put the valve stem in a vise and drill it out, cut to length. If they come up a little short you can always add a small piece of hose on the post to extend them out a bit.
