Don’t worry…I was dark sided from age 18-55.. till I went ETEC (17 years) . these little Mercs are just low cost hobby investments to be resold for cost & parts only, to recoup my $$ .
Most go for about $150 cdn or less.
I am always amazed at how little some folks do not do “very” basic maintenance . A lot of motors run 30-50hrs / year & used for a trip or two in the wild
yet they can’t drop a gearcase to change an impeller and…clear sand away let alone a good coat or two of car wax.
thankfully they supply us with hobby material to keep busy during snow storms and -25c temps 🙂
btw… was looking on Amazon for chrome tape to touch up the cowl. A bit pricy but the local Dollar store had a nice sticky 5 roll tape kit with chrome finish tape in it for $2. 🙂 may not last long but looks pretty good. A shot of Mercury black and it will look like new 🙂
