Funny, I have a roll of both kinds and I kinda like the limp stuff a little bit better. It seems not to get caught on stuff as much, when magnetos move. Just my own observation. To each his own, certainly. My all-black stuff is branded “Packard,” so maybe it’s different from what you have, Mumbles.
