I used two in an 18 Fastwin. I tested the motor in a barrel at about 1:00 in the afternoon. Perfect. I drove it a 1/4 mile down to the lake, launched the boat, started to motor and one coil was already dead. 1:15 in the afternoon. I thought, “Oh my goodness me, what did I do wrong”; but troubleshooting put it squarely on a failed coil. What a waste of my very precious free time. This is just what the Chinamen want, secondarily to putting the West out of business, that is. I wouldn’t have bought the damn thing but I don’t believe we have an option anymore, do we?
