Thanks – I did all the above but must have reversed the dwell procedure – apparently I treated number 1 points as 2 and vice versa. I did use the correct degree wheel and the distributor itself has been totally rebuilt with new seals, new bearings, points, cap and rotor, etc. Works perfectly now (!). Thanks, Steve S
