I know what you are thinking—thin, as in the plated bearings found in some connecting rods. But I would have a hard time believing it is that thin in this case. I doubt this is causing your hard starting problem. Those motors would start and run right up to self-destruction when the seal failed and gulped water, without the owner even realizing anything was wrong. Looks like you got a good one, so far.
