    A great post doing same thing to a 1970 22ci 25 hp Johnson and this answers most of my questions. Except my Johnson manual start had no provisions to operate the throttle butterfly either but I have an 18 hp evinrude 1965 that has linkage to do so it was manual start as well. However I understand there was a bit of a switch in design somewhere between 1969 and 1970
