Mark,
Looking at that motor it is worth a little effort to get running, it seems to be all there as far as pictures go. If you could have bought it for $6 even better. I am working on a 1950 Corsair 7.5 which is a Scott Atwater motor, I got this for $10 that was not as nice as that and never thought it would run again, but after looking at the motor it had good compression and after a little magneto work, new condensers and wires, plugs , resurfaced and set the points, cleaned the carburetor I did a test fire and it popped right off on a shot of fuel into the carburetor. I will have about $150 into this motor , it’s not a 100 point restoration but more of a rustoration project. I will do some body and paint work then put it on the boat and run it around the lake.
The fun is bringing them back to life, then I usually sell them, don’t make a dime doing it but it’s fun to tinker and learn along the way.
