not sure what motor FrankR you are referencing, since i don’t have anything like that on my motor. I am attaching photos… the unit i have seems to have just the 2 long bolts holding the lower unit together… i have been able to seperate it about 1/8″ at the rear but it seems stuck by the front (i have removed the nuts that are shown in the photos) The service manual i have states 3 bolts…so that was my concern since i only seem to have 2…in the 1960 parts catalog there is shown the two threaded rods but they also show a threaded hole on the front side of the driveshaft which doesnt match
i wonder if there is just corrosion that is keeping the front threaded rod from moving
