This engine has the small diameter wrist pins with plain bearings…I would check carefully for wrist pin slop…If it was mine, I would update to the later style pistons/rods/wrist pins/bearings used in the 1961 QD models.. Yes, can be pricey, but worth it if you plan on keeping the engine. Otherwise, simply check for sloppy wrist pins and use what you have… And to answer your question, the rings should be replaced on both pistons…
