Are the intake covers on tight? I had a similar prob with a ’57 AD-11 and found the intake cover screws were only finger tight, despite appearing to have unbroken original paint on them. I put gasket sealer on and retightened all the screws and it ran well and had an audible hiss when I cracked open the gas tank after shutting it down. NABMD
