I pulled the gear case off today to inspect the water pump.
Other than being very greasy, it was still in good “fit” and shape.
Just for kicks l dug around to see if I had an old Gale 5 hp wobbler
pump. I found a NOS wobbler, but I have no idea where I got
it, or if it was for a Gale 5 hp, but it fits in the Elgin perfect.
Any idea if Gale wobblers could be the same?

I blew compressed air up the pump discharge to power head. I heard
air moving, but it seemed like there was a fair amount of back pressure.
Hopefully I don’t have pluggage (the motor that is!), but I’ll try tomorrow to
throw the motor in a bucket of water and spin the driveshaft
to test the pump.
