A few years ago it was mentioned here that it was suspected the manufacturers would change the decals part way thru a model run. That way you would have two same year and model motors but with different style original tank decals on them.
When I first got my KA-37, I could just make out remnants of the original S/O decals on the front of the tank. The replacement decal for it, which hasn’t been applied yet, has the same separate S/O decals for the front of the tank. If you see a tank with a one piece decal on it, it could be correct to as the motor may have come from the factory with two or more different decal styles in the same year.
