Gives you more control over the high speed running of the motor. Also easier to clean the high speed circuit. With the fixed jet, you need a special tool to remove/clean the jet. The fixed jet does have the advantage of no packing washers. If you switch to the adjustable needle, you’ll need the adjustment knob which goes on the end.
