Wow does that old boat bring back some memories! My pop had one just like that, maybe a couple years older. I learned to water ski behind that old girl. It pulled like a tractor! Dad used to carry four six gallon cans with him when ever he went boating. I thought the 17 footer had a hatch in the bow. Might have been an option. Our boat was like yours no bow hatch. We used it a lot the first few years we had it. At one point it set for over a year. When we finally got it back in the water it leaked so bad we almost lost it in the drink at the boat ramp! After that dad would run the garden hose in it and put about four inches of water to get the wood to swell up before he would take it out, after he did that it was fine. Sure is a nice looking out fit!
