314167 were used on ’68 and later motors. Is it possible someone switched the carrier and seal in the past?
The very early Lightwins and JW’s produced did use a different size seal on the prop shaft and I believe it was the same one used on the Johnson TN 26-28’s. They were probably using up old parts first again. If you can post the serial number, it will help identify the year it was made.
