I forgot to ask about the driveshaft bushing. It’s not in great shape
either, but not near as sloppy as the prop shaft was.
I’m not 100% sure there’s actually a bushing down that driveshaft tube,
or if the hole was just bored in the casting inside the tube?
I made a stepped bushing puller plate and tried to pull the bushing
out with the ready-rod method, but nothing budged. I did not
attempt to use heat. If there is a bushing in there, it’s walls would seem
to be 1/8″ or less.
What’s your experience in this area?
