Hi Cajunook1
David, thank you very much for all the photos!. As the old saying goes, "a photo is worth a thousand words"! They will be a big big help in making replacement parts for the tilt mechanism and especially the steel collar device that locks the tiller handle up or down…….fortunately I still have dad’s lathe I should be able to make one and even do the knurling on it, but it certainly won’t be a five minute job! You may remember from a previous post of mine, that dad’s motor only had a piece of strap steel as a tiller and over 40 yrs ago I came across an original tiller but the steel collar parts were very rusted.
In an earlier post I mentioned that I can’t find the Serial No. on the motor and again was wondering if any one would have any idea where it is located?
Your motor has a little plate on the outside of one of the transom brackets showing the Model and Serial No……..there is no evidence of any sort, that a ID plate was ever mounted on dad’s one?
Thanks very much again for all you help!!
Kind regards
