I made up a test hose a couple of hours ago. I also used a double female
washing machine hose……. cut it in half, so I could make up another unit
    if I get the urge.
I used a scrap piece of 3/4″ x 1/8″ galvanized strap metal that I had,
and drilled (29/64″) and tapped it for 1/4″ pipe thread.
A 1/4″ npt air tool coupler fitting screwed into the plate, and fit inside of the 3/8″ ID
    washing machine hose nicely.
Though evidently not necessary, I laid a piece of rubber gasket material over
the hole going to the intake screen, and put a nut over it to keep it in place.
(Hope I remember to take it back out!)
I have not tried it out yet……. the heat, for Minnesnowdens is somewhat oppressive today.
    Maybe later today.
P.S.- I had to use some longer #10 bolts to attach the test plate to the motor
