Umm… could be worse… I have a basket case 9.5 with the drive shaft jammed into the crankshaft receiver. The splines wore (no idea why) and the crankshaft spun — sounding like a spun prop (lots of rpm, no forward movement). I’m not sure if the shaft welded itself to the crank or it jammed, but I’ve tried heat, PB Blaster, concussion, several times over the past 15 years and it’s decidedly stuck.
I have a couple of JWs that are exhibiting the same upper driveshaft spline wear.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
