    Thanks for your suggestion. From what I have read elsewhere, welding is not an option, I can’t remember why just now (age again). Other suggestions included JB Weld as a temporary, but the crack starts around the lower bolt to the crankcase and heads down into the exhaust area. If I have to strip it down to do either of these and I’d just as soon replace the block till next time. Maybe buy 2 blocks this time…
