My mother got my father a TD for their anniversary after he came back from Okinawa, before I was born in 1952. We fished with that motor all over the country. When i was a teenager back in the 1960’s I built a Minimax Hydroplane and the first motor I used on it was of course the TD. That’s when I discovered the primer wasn’t working and OMC didn’t sell them anymore. So I figured out how to make them, but I didn’t start making them for others until many years later when I joined the AOMC and learned there were many other good motors out there with the same problem.
