    Jeffrey,
If you haven’t already found a motor, I am very nearly finished with a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration on a 1956 Johnson 30hp. Completely rebuilt powerhead (new rings, bearings, crank seals, honed cylinders), all new gaskets and seals, all new ignition system, carb overhaul, new water pump, gearcase reseal job, new gearcase bearings and clutch dog, added electric starter, a fuel pump conversion and fresh paint and decals. You can follow the start to finish story in the Current Projects section here on the Forum, under the thread “Next Project – 1956 RD-18”.

I’m out of town for the next week or so, but when I return I’ll be putting the last finishing touches on it and will post some final completion pics and a video of the first test run. I had intended on hanging on to this motor for awhile but I MIGHT be tempted (but no promises) to let it go if you are interested. And I also live in Texas and judging by your area code, you could pick it up at my place in the morning and have it on your boat the same afternoon.
