Possibly because as we all know it is not just members that own outboards. So with that being said a group on FB could easily translate into gaining more members, leads for motors, and such.
FB pages were not nor do I believe they were created to take the place of this site, but rather to facilitate garnering the attention of other like minded persons looking for info about these old outboards.
Yes there will be info posted on the platform that you may not see here, but if truth be known, it probably has already posted on our site but it is more than likely been buried, because of the length of time since it was originally posted.
While we have a presence while searching for old outboards, we all should be aware that there are 3 places to go to look for something, Google, Facebook and Youtube.
There is no other place that someone will go, UNTIL they find the link for our site. They will almost always go to one of those 3 first. Period.
While we clearly have the market on the knowledge of these ancient and epic motors, we do not have the market on marketing our club.
We are getting there, just not quite there yet.
This is the first link when I google Lockwood Outboard.
