    I run 24:1 in my Big Twins.

    Hypoid gear oil, with new crush washers in the lower.

    Check compression. Should be about 100 to 125 or so and even.

    Check spark. Does it jump a 1/4" gap with a bright blue ZAP!!?

    These are the starting points.
