    I often need to use this process: I remove the entire pump and shaft unit by removing the 2 screws. Then with no drive pin thru the shaft, I slide the shaft back so I can insert a pin thru the impeller driver and the outer hole of the shaft. Then tap on the shaft as a puller to remove the cover.
