Greater travel of the magneto timing can be achieved by moving the pivot closer to the crankshaft center. I can envision a bolt through the magneto base plate extending below as an anchor for the end of the magneto timing connection. The outer cable anchor might then be on top of the port side of the carburetor cover. It is the exact opposite of the throttle operation where you will go from stop to wide open in less than the full travel of the speed control lever on the classic OMC control box. . . :geek:
