Reply To: Oil to use in old air cooled outboards?

I would probably use a synthetic oil intended for air-cooled two stroke engines such as chain saws, etc., on the assumption that air-cooled power heads run hotter. “JASO” etc. The TC-W 3 oil is formulated for water cooled outboards.

But this subject brings out all sorts of opinions. And “review” sites have proliferated on the Internet, most apparently produced by writers who know nothing about their subject.
