    BRP or Amsoil is my preference because they burn clean and leave less mess after running. Cheap oil leaves lots of black residue all over my white Mercury midsection that is hard to clean. Also, better oils smoke less. This is a visual concern for me since I use a busy public boat launch and run many antique motors at 8:1.
