    Sorry for the delay.
    I removed the lower unit but there are 2 plates below the water pump housing.

    How do I remove the 2 plates to be able to access the water pump? I am concerned about disconnecting the clutch cable.
    .

    I believe these are Items 17 and 32 on the Parts breakdown for Lower Unit of Gale Model 5D10.
