If you are planning to use a two lever OMC throttle/shift control I doubt that the shift lever will have enough travel to effectively control advance and retard. Perhaps a bell crank might gain the needed motion. I would also reccomend a stop to limit advance so that a remote control of the spark advance can’t over advance the spark and cause pre ignition that might result in a burned piston.
