In New York one of my Trailers was registered as home made. That was one way around a trailer with no info on it. We have to do yearly registration and inspection which is a pain in the butt. To get around that, I registered my 3 trailers in the state of Maine. I get a 12 year registration with no yearly inspection. New York state honors it. I did it all thru the mail. If you notice, a lot of tractor trailers have the trailers registered in Maine. At least in the north east.
